It was first reported almost two years ago, but now, it appears as if it is really going to happen. The NBA Experience is coming to Disney Springs and it will all happen in the place where DisneyQuest as the virtual theme park is closing this summer.
Back in the middle of 2015, word first came about that DisneyQuest would be closing to make way for The NBA Experience, but then, things got quiet. Word was that Disney and the NBA had their differences and things had changed, but it seems that they have changed again.
Disney has now confirmed that DisneyQuest will close on July 3, 2017. Guests can visit the interactive theme park until then, but get your time in now as it won’t be around that much longer.
As we’ve previously shared, The NBA Experience at Walt Disney World Resort will be a one-of-a-kind basketball-themed experience featuring hands-on activities that put guests of all ages right in the middle of NBA game action. There will be immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences, as well as a restaurant and a retail store.
No word yet on when The NBA Experience will open in place of DisneyQuest.
