The next time you enter the lobby of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you may notice a few changes as different improvement methods continue to be tested. One thing you may learn is that the online check-in lines are going away and in most resorts, they are already gone.
Yes, the online check-in lines are being taken out of the lobbies as a way to try and lessen the amount of time spent for Guests upon their arrival at Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
Disney has stated that the online check-in queue lines are already gone from all Deluxe Resorts and are being taken out of the Moderate and Value Resorts as well. The online and regular check-in lines are being merged together and in some cases, concierge service windows will be included in that line as well.
For anyone going to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, you will now notice just one line for Guests in the lobby. At the front of that line is a podium with a Cast Member who will ask the reason for your visit and try to answer your question or solve any issue you may have. If more needs to be done, they will direct you to the next available desk for check-in or concierge services.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the few that still have an online check-in line, but it will soon be removed and merged with the regular as well.
No word yet on if this is just a test, but a manager at Caribbean Beach advised this is what all resorts are currently preparing to do and lines will be condensed in the lobbies.
