As fans await the opening of the new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster in Epcot’s Future World, Disney is giving a little something to tide them over. A new video has been released that shows the progress of construction and all that can be said so far is…it is going to be gigantic.
A new video has been released with some details on the new attraction and it showcases the immense amount of space it will take. Not only is the Guardians coaster going to take over the old Universe of Energy pavilion, but it will encompass large plot of land around and behind it.
As you’ll see in the short video below, the foundation for the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster was recently poured and it took more than 300 workers…17 hours….with 80.4 miles of rebar….and 960 truckloads for 9,260 cubic yards of concrete which coves 72,000 square feet.
While there is no confirmed date on when the Guardians of the Galaxy ride will open at Epcot, new construction walls have the number “21” all over it…which leads many to believe it will debut in 2021.
