Back in 2012, Be Our Guest Restaurant became the first dining location in Magic Kingdom to sell alcohol. A few years later, four more restaurants added alcohol options to their menus and now, two more have also changed up their menu to featured adult beverages.
On Monday, May 7, 2018, both The Plaza Restaurant and Crystal Palace added alcohol options to their menus for guests over the age of 21 to enjoy. Here you can see the options for cocktails, beers, and wines that are now available to order.

Magic Kingdom should be alcohol free in my opinion. Thus is a family friendly park, and no one wants to see or hear people that have had too much to drink. This is a park for children to enjoy and to be magical. Shame on Disney for just trying to once again get more money! That’s what I see this ad, nothing more than a money maker. If a family can’t enjoy a nice day in the park without adult beverages, shame on them too!
I fully support/defend alcohol being served in restaurants in any park.
See no reason why it can’t be. If people wish to have that option, why not let them? Outside of Disney, alcohol is available in almost every restaurant, clubs, some retail stores, movie theaters, the mall, and even in some libraries. All of those which are family places…just as many consider Walt Disney World. Having alcohol there doesn’t make them any less a family place.
If you’re saying the park is just for children, you’re truly mistaken. We don’t have kids and we go to the parks all the time…as they’re for everyone.
I’m also going to say this…in December of 2011, we moved to Orlando and behind Magic Kingdom. We have gone to the parks probably 4-6 times a week regularly since that time…including during Food & Wine Fest at Epcot.
In all that time…all those trips inside the park…we have never ONCE seen an unruly or fall-down drunk. Does it happen? I know it does as I’ve seen them in he past and know many who have witnessed it or done it…but it is not common. It isn’t common at all, and having alcohol in MK restaurants – of which it has been since 2012 – is likely not going to change that.
Oh…I’m also saying this from the life of someone who does not drink. Seriously, I don’t drink at all.
