If you’ve ever been to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you may have had the distinct honor and privilege of meeting greeter Richard Gerth. His smiling face has welcomed so many different guests to the resort for many years and right now, he could use all the well wishes you have to offer.
Word started making the rounds on Tuesday morning that Richard had fallen ill and was actually taken to hospice. It seems as if Richard contracted pneumonia and is not doing very well at the time, so, he is not at the Grand Floridian.
Some higher end Cast Members at the Grand Floridian have confirmed that there are some other medical ailments which have befallen Richard, but out of respect for and the privacy of him and his family, they will not be revealed at this time.

Richard, I am sending prayers and pixie dust your way.
A nice article except for the business plug at the bottom.
Exactly. He tells people to respect him and his family at his time. BUT, always time to make a quick buck. He writes a story then makes money from it then advertises his business too. This guy is gross.
Richard, it truly was an honor to meet you and have our picture taken with you. May God bless you and your family. Take care! One day at a time…
Get well Mr. Richard. You are a wonderful reminder of what human beings are capable of being. Thank you for always having such a kind heart and sharing it with everyone you meet.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with you,
I had the pleasure of working with Richard for 2 years, while I was in Bell Services at the Grand, back in 1992. He was so sweet and kind, always had a smile and nice thing to say, he truly loved what he did. I am sorry to hear of his passing, my thoughts and prayers are with all his friends and family.
