A sad story out of Central Florida this morning as a body was found inside of a burning vehicle on Walt Disney World property early on Saturday morning.
As reported by Florida Today, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was called to 1209 Epcot Resorts Blvd. at 4:11 a.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018. They were called to assist the Reedy Creek Fire Department who had been called out for a vehicle on fire.
The vehicle on fire was located near Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Mini-Golf Course which is close to the Swan and Dolphin resorts.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies found the victim dead inside of the vehicle after the fire was extinguished.
On Twitter, the situation is being discussed by a lot of people and a tweet from Rafael Kishko-N states that “This point [where the vehicle was found] is a resting area chosen by Uber and Lyft drivers.”
That is merely an observance and there is nothing yet publicly known about the person found in the burning vehicle.
As of later on Saturday morning, the identity of the victim had still not been revealed. Deputies with OCSO did state that the Fire Marshall, homicide detectives, and Sector 6 investigators are investigating the burning car and body found inside of it.
No assumptions will be made in this situation, and all of us here at Doctor Disney send out our sincerest condolences to the victim as well as the family and friends of that person.
