Update on Rafiki’s Planet Watch – Set To Reopen In Spring 2019 After Next Month’s Closure

While it originally seemed as if Rafiki’s Planet Watch was going to soon close for good, it appears as if plans have changed. Disney has now confirmed that not only will it reopen, but it will be upgraded and improved.

Shile exact plans are not yet known for the location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it will make many happy to know that it’s not closing permanently.

The final day of operation is going to be Saturday, October 20, 2018. Cast Members have already been informed that the plan is for Rafiki’s Planet Watch to reopen in Spring 2019, but an exact date is not yet known.

Of course, this also means the Wildlife Express Train will also be back. It is not yet known what this big refurbishment will entail, but it’s going to be interesting to find out.

With next year being the 25th anniversary of The Lion King, we can only hope that it will play into the refurbishment. Only time will tell, but it’s great to know that this attraction isn’t going away for good.
