Monday, October 8, 2018, was a big day at Walt Disney World as numerous refurbished areas reopened at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Centertown Market and Calypso Trading Post opened at Old Port Royale along with the brand new Sebastian’s Bistro and Banana Cabana poolside bar.
Check out all the pics below of the new and improved Caribbean Beach Resort.
No longer will guests enter Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort through its old entrance as the new one on Victory Way is the primary way to enter and exit the property. It is located right down from the resort entrances of Pop Century and Art of Animation.
The old Custom House is also no longer the place to check-in for Caribbean Beach as the new Old Port Royale is a combined check-in, shopping, and dining location.
While the usual and normal check-in desks are there, Cast Members will be wandering around the lobby with iPads. Guests will have the opportunity to check-in with them as well as receive help with any other questions they may have.
The new check-in area at Caribbean Beach is very nice and extremely helpful. It is much more welcoming and an improvement over the old Custom House.
Off of the main lobby at Old Port Royale is the Calypso Trading Post which is the new merchandise location at Caribbean Beach. It’s organized better than the old store and has a really nice flow throughout.
The new quick-service dining location at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is called Centertown Market and it is also located in Old Port Royale. It is also located immediately off of the lobby and check-in area with grab-and-go windows, beverage centers, and a centralized ordering check-out area.
Making matters even better is that Mobile Ordering is available at Centertown Market and the windows to pick up those orders are marked for easy access.
There is a lot of seating in the quick-service location of Centertown Market. Seating areas are separated into different sections, but quite plentiful.
When heading out back of Old Port Royale, the Banana Cabana poolside bar is also open and looks great.
It is located immediately next to Sebastian’s Bistro which is the new table-service restaurant available to guests. You can check out the full menu by clicking this link.
Along with all the changes and refurbishments done at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, there are a couple of other things that guests need to know.
As of October 8, 2018, a few of the island sections of the resort have changed names.
- Trinidad South is now simply known as Trinidad
- Trinidad North is now known as Barbados
