On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, there were a number of big changes at Walt Disney World and that included new date-based pricing on multi-day tickets. While some people are concerned about the shorter lifespan of their tickets, there is actually a way to extend it.
With the new date-based pricing for a multi-day ticket, guests will have a more limited amount of time to use them. No longer is it simply a use them whenever you wish kind of thing and you have 14 days from the date of first use until they expire.
Expiration dates for date-based tickets will vary to whichever is longer – The scenarios shown above or a valid use period beginning on the arrival date of a Walt Disney World Resort package and ending on the check-out date.
It is possible for guests to extend the life of their ticket by not having to choose dates. This is called the “Flexible Dates Option” and per Disney:
“With this option, you don’t have to choose dates. The first day of use of your ticket can be any day on or before December 31, 2019. Plus, you get more days to use your ticket. When you add this option, you have 14 days (from first use) to use all your ticket days.”
Essentially, this will allow guests to have rules for their tickets which were more like they were before the date-based pricing began. The Flexible Dates Option can range anywhere from around $15 to a little over $55 in price, depending on the length of your ticket.
