SeaWorld Orlando certainly has a lot to be proud of, and so much of it is coming from its water park Aquatica. Officials for the theme park have confirmed that it will become the first water park in the world to be a certified autism center.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, Aquatica Orlando received their designation as a “Certified Autism Center” from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards.
The process of becoming credentialed is one that has the Aquatica staff continually trained to help guests with autism and their families. Those families are also given specific information as to which attractions and rides are best for them during their visit to the water park.
Aquatica has plans of creating a quiet room for guests with autism which will allow them to take a break. The room will have comfortable seatings, spacious areas to be in, and adjustable lighting.
SeaWorld has truly been working on welcoming all guests into its series of theme parks. Back in April, Sesame Place (SeaWorld’s sister park) became the first theme park to become a Certified Autism Center.
