If you’re heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year, we’ve got some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is that Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror will not be closing during its lengthy refurbishment.
The bad news is that your wait times for it may end up being a bit longer.
Tower of Terror is one of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World and it will undergo a rather long refurbishment during the spring and summer of 2019. Exact dates are not yet known, but it will be going on for quite a while.
The refurbishment is going to be done in different phases, but Tower of Terror is not scheduled to actually close during any of them. One side will always remain open so guests can ride it, but that does mean there will be a reduced operating capacity at times.
Due to this refurbishment, the number of FastPass+ selections for Tower of Terror will also be reduced each day.
While it’s not exactly known what is being done during the refurbishment, there are no major changes expected. It is likely that Disney is fixing a number of broken effects and other issues that have been around for a while.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
