A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that Epcot would overhaul its park entrance which includes the moving of the Leave A Legacy monuments. Well, it appears as if these changes are being kicked into high gear as permits have now been filed to begin the work.
The permit filed calls the construction “Project G,” and it states that it is “Enabling Works at North Pathways. Includes sitework, demo, hardscapes, landscaping.”
Some may confuse this information with the work that will be done to Innoventions (most notably West), but that doesn’t appear to be the case. By reading the description of the permit and seeing the “North Pathways” comment, it seems more likely that this will fall in line with the removal of the Leave A Legacy monuments from their current position.
Disney hasn’t yet said where exactly Leave A Legacy will go, but they will be placed outside of Epcot’s entrance. This work is expected to begin rather soon.
A lot of changes are coming to Epcot over the next couple of years, and it’s going to be interesting to see it all take place.

What is to be gained by moving these monuments?
Returning the entrance of Epcot back to the beauty it used to have before the tombstone-like monuments were put in place.
As long as they keep them. My mom and dad are on them and ha e passed. I would hate to see them go.
