As if there needed to be more big news since the opening dates for both versions of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were revealed on Thursday. Disney CEO Bob Iger gave some updates on the new streaming service called Disney+ which is set to debut later this year, and it will include a lot of movies. Even those in the vault.
Disney+ is set to launch later this year even though there isn’t an exact date as of yet. Iger did reveal that he will be showcasing it to investors and others on April 11, 2019, so, we may get an official start date by that time.
Along with that news, we all knew that there would be movies from Disney (entire library), Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Fox on there, but just how much are we getting? Iger confirmed today at The Walt Disney Shareholders Meeting that Disney+ would also include “vaulted” movies.
Yes, the movies that land in the vault and you can’t buy for years at a time? The vault movies are those on the rotation which are taken out of production every so often and it’s impossible to find them, and they will land on Disney+.
Iger continued to say that dozens of movies and TV shows are already in development for Disney+ and they will be exclusive to the streaming service. It is not out of the question, though, for Disney to still work with companies such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.
“I think the strategy will be long term pretty heavily weighted toward internally sourced,” Iger stated, but “there will be occasions where we will be glad to license from third parties. Because the Fox deal hasn’t closed yet — so we can’t take advantage of some of their capabilities — and because we need to launch the [Disney+] service with some volume and it takes time to ramp up, we’re buying certain products form the outside opportunistically.”

It’s sad that the new generation won’t be able to enjoy the older version of the Disney movies that the older kids got to enjoy…
Why won’t they? That’s what this article is about is that the entire Disney movie library will be available for everyone to view.
Can it please include the 90s movies that used to show on Disney channel.. Thirteenth Year, Susie Q, Dont look under the bed, Zenon, etc
