Captain Marvel officially opened in theaters today and it is the first Marvel Studios movie to open since Stan Lee’s passing. The studio and the film paid tribute to the late comic book giant, and it’s so incredibly sweet yet heartbreaking all at the same time.
First of all, there are no spoilers for Captain Marvel in this article, so, you don’t need to worry about any of that. The tribute to Stan Lee actually happens before the opening credits roll and it’s safe to say that you may tear up a little.
Anyone who knows Marvel Studios knows that the opening of each film has the logo appear with characters from different movies. Over the years, it has been updated with different scenes and most recently with the “10” for the 10-year anniversary Marvel Studios.
Now, there is another update and it may end up being attached to a few of the upcoming films.
This one the letters of “Marvel” showcasing the different cameos for Stan Lee in the past in what is an excellent tribute to him. At the end of it all and once the logo fades, the screen simply states, “Thank you, Stan.”
