Handling Fees Are Now Being Applied To In-Room Grocery Deliveries At Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Shipt and Instacart and Amazon Prime and Garden Grocer are all some of the great services that can have grocery deliveries brought to your Walt Disney World Resort. Now, though, there is going to be an additional fee tacked onto those shipments if you plan on using the services.

walt disney world in-room grocery deliveries fee

Walt Disney World Resort hotels are now charging a handling fee of $6.00 per order for any in-room deliveries. That fee will also be applied to any grocery or package deliveries held at the front desk.

This new policy has landed on Walt Disney World’s official website and reads as follows:

Guest staying at Walt Disney World resort hotels receive mail throughout their stay. Occasionally, some Guests choose to ship items in advance of their vacation to help save luggage space.

If you intend to receive mail during your vacation, be sure the letter or package:

  • Includes the mailing address of your Disney Resort Hotel
  • Clearly features the word “Guest” on the front and the date of your arrival

Please note that a $6 per package handling fee will apply to all packages that are received through the Front Desk or are delivered to your Disney Resort hotel room.

Additional details:

  • The $6 charge per order will be charged to the Guest’s room folio
  • Grocery pick-up from the resort lobby, Bell Services, or the resort luggage room is complimentary
  • Guests will be informed of the fee upon calling to have their grocery deliveries brought to their room
  • Guests must be present to receive the delivery

This new fee is in effect already (as of April 3, 2019) and will go for any deliveries received going forward. So, this is per order and not per bag if you’re thinking that your grocery deliveries will be rather expensive with the $6 handling fee. It’s not that bad.

And please remember to TIP your shopper! The shopper is not getting this fee or any delivery fee for that matter. The bellperson is not the one personally shopping and delivering your order. It is your Shipt shopper (or other service). You’re on vacation, so taking a moment to tip your shopper easily through the app IS possible and IS common courtesy.
