In a bit of an odd twist and touch of fate, two movies about toys coming to life will be released in theaters on the same day this summer. On June 21, 2019, Toy Story 4 and the remake of Child’s Play will hit theaters with likely having some audiences crossing over to see both.
Knowing this information, though, Child’s Play decided to take a not-so-subtle shot at the Toy Story franchise, and it comes at the expense of Sheriff Woody.
While the two movies have absolutely nothing to do with one another, Child’s Play is about a toy that comes to life just as is Toy Story. The only real difference is that Chucky (voiced by Mark Hamill) is not nearly as friendly as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the Pixar gang.
The newest poster for the remake of Child’s Play has now been revealed, and the marketing team decided to make it playtime. As you can see in the image below, Chucky ended up doing what he does best and it just so happened that Woody was the victim of this cruel fate.
Of course, it was just all in fun and nothing more than that. Both Child’s Play and Toy Story 4 will hit theaters on June 21, 2019, and there really isn’t any bad blood out there.
