The TRON attraction coming to Magic Kingdom still has a long way to go until it is totally built and opens for guests, but Disney has shared an exciting construction update for guests to see.
If you’ve been to Magic Kingdom lately, you may have noticed the work being done over in the back of Tomorrowland near Space Mountain. Now, the first steel support columns have been installed and they will serve as the framework of the roller coaster being built.
The roller coaster is based on the TRON Lightcycle Power Run which is in Shanghai Disneyland, and it’s going to add a brand new dimension to Walt Disney World.
On the new attraction coming to Magic Kingdom, the “coaster-style attraction will allow riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a thrilling race through the digital frontier.”
An exact opening date is not yet known for the TRON coaster at Magic Kingdom, but it is set to open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021.
