Four years ago, the Shop Disney Parks app was introduced to make it easier for guests to order and locate merchandise. Now, they are going to have to use other methods for all their shopping needs as the app is going to be retired at the end of this month.
It has been announced by Disney that the Shop Disney Parks app will officially retire and no longer be functioning as of May 31, 2019. Guests are being directed to ShopDisney for all of their Disney merchandise needs which does include that from the parks.
Guests can download the ShopDisney app or even go to the website online to find the merchandise they are looking for. For locating merchandise while at the Disney Parks, guests can find that function on the My Disney Experience app.
Using MDE to shop, Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members will be able to apply their merchandise discounts.
You can now and always be able to head over to ShopDisney to shop for all your Disney merchandise.
Make sure to get in touch with My Mickey Vacation Travel so they can give you even more details and take all the stress out of planning to create the magic for you.
They will make sure to connect all the dots and get everything in order for your next Adventures by Disney, Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or any Disney Destination vacation while saving you time, stress, and money.
Join the “I’m So Disney…” group on Facebook to discuss this and many other Disney things with anyone and everyone. Be sure to follow Doctor Disney on Twitter and Instagram as well.
Why would you take this away from Disney fans? What will the company get out of it?
When that app first came available it was wonderful! However, over the last year, almost all merchandise that is listed on the app is not available or showing it in park only which is very frustrating when you spend time looking for an item only to see it listed but unavailable. I guess it is time to retire this since it’s not been functioning properly for a long time now.
