Next week, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland will finally be open to all guests and no longer require reservations to enter the land. Disney has now revealed details on the virtual queue system that will be used and could end up being how things are handled at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Beginning on June 24, 2019, reservations will no longer be needed to enter Galaxy’s Edge, but Disneyland doesn’t want pure chaos. That is why there is going to be a virtual queue designed and set up for the Disneyland app which will help guests reserve a spot to enter the land.
As of this time, Disney has still said that there will not be reservations needed to enter Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World. It is quite possible that this virtual queue, though, will be something put in place for when the land opens at DHS on August 29, 2019.
For guests going inside of Galaxy’s Edge and wanting to visit Oga’s Cantina or Savi’s Workshop, reservations will be required. Guests wanting to book reservations for these two locations will be able to do so on the same day of their visit and beginning at 7 a.m. A valid credit card will be needed for the hold.
These reservations will allow access into Galaxy’s Edge which means guests won’t need to join a boarding group to enter.
Again, this information regarding a virtual queue is for Disneyland starting on Monday, but it is possible that Disney’s Hollywood Studios could use it as well.
