Epcot is undergoing a lot of changes as everyone may have heard about by now, but there are still more to come. Disney has confirmed that the Epcot Character Spot will be permanently closing in September and new meet-and-greet locations have been revealed.
Actually, there are going to be other locations closing as well with closures coming for Fountain View Starbucks, Club Cool, Colortopia, and Camera Center as their last days will also be September 7, 2019.
On September 8, 2019, Epcot Character Spot will indeed be permanently closing which means that one of the main spots to see a number of your favorites will be no more. As of this time, the location is home to Baymax, Joy and Sadness, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse.
Here is a list of all the new locations that guests will be able to meet some of their favorite characters after the closure on September 8.
- Mickey Mouse and Goofy – Innoventions West, but this will only be temporary. In time, they will have their own location in the Imagination! pavilion
- Minnie Mouse – Gazebo in World Showcase
- Daisy Duck – American Adventure
- Joy & Sadness – No location known as of yet
- Baymax – No location known as of yet
Please Note: All of this is subject to change and by the time September rolls around, locations could be different.
It is expected that the Winnie The Pooh meet-and-greet in the United Kingdom pavilion is also going to reopen.
A new Starbucks will be built, but a temporary location will be inside of The Odyssey. It is not yet known if there will be any continuation of Club Cool and other locations.
