Work has officially started on the remaining Leave A Legacy monuments at Epcot as the left-side (when facing Spaceship Earth) now has construction walls up.
Back in May, construction work began on one side of the Leave A Legacy monuments and they have been fully removed. Finally, the other side has construction walls up around the remaining monuments and they will begin removal of them this week.
All of the Leave A Legacy monuments will be removed entirely and walls will stay up through this fall as Disney continues work re-imagining Epcot’s entrance.
Disney is going to have a brand new setting for the Leave A Legacy pictures set just outside of Epcot’s entrance gateway which is going to open sometime in 2020.
Epcot’s newly imagined park entrance will have New pathways, sweeping green spaces and a newly reimagined fountain will all be part of the new look. Again the photos from Leave A Legacy will remain and be put in a new location, but the monuments will be gone.
