Virtual Queue System Will Be In Place For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

With the reservation system that was used in Disneyland not being putting place for Walt Disney World, many wondered how all would go. One good thing to note is that it has now been confirmed that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have the virtual queue system in place for all guests.

The virtual queue system is going to be used to help make things a bit better for both guests and Cast Members. Starting on August 29, 2019, the virtual queue system will be used for guests wanting to visit Galaxy’s Edge on its opening day and beyond.

Guests will need to have downloaded the My Disney Experience app and access it on the day of your visit to be put into a “boarding group.” This will allow guests to have a virtual spot in line by receiving a time in which they can return to Galaxy’s Edge and experience it at their leisure.

  • Open My Disney Experience (make sure it is up to date)
  • Go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Status and Access
  • Choose the “Find Out More” option
  • Choose “Join Boarding Group” and you will receive a return time
  • Upon your entry time arriving, you will receive a notification advising you it is time to enter Batuu

If you go to “Find Out More” and it says that Galaxy’s Edge is simply “Open,” all guests are able to enter the land without having to use the virtual queue.

You must make sure that you are allowing notifications on your mobile device or you can also check out the digital tip boards around Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Once your boarding group is called and has started, you will have up to two hours to enter Galaxy’s Edge.

If you are not using My Disney Experience, you can still join a boarding group by visiting any of the Guest Experience Team locations stationed around the park.

Make sure to get in touch with My Mickey Vacation Travel so they can give you even more details and take all the stress out of planning to create the magic for you.

They will make sure to connect all the dots and get everything in order for your next Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or any Disney Destination vacation while saving you time, stress, and money.

Have they said what happens for guests with reservations? Do you still need to join a boarding group?

    • At Disneyland, if you have a reservation for Oga’s, Savi’s, or the Droid Depot, THAT will act as your “Boarding group”. They will let you in the land to make your first reservation on Batuu.

How will this work for early entry- 6am- for people staying on property?

  3. Vicki Elkins says

Do all guests need to have My Disney Experience on their phone or can one person out of the group get the Boarding Time for everyone?

  4. Will this affect wait times for ride? Are only people in that boarding group allowed to ride?
