Disney Releases Official Statement On Skyliner ‘Malfunction’ From This Past Weekend

This past weekend, there was an incident at Walt Disney World in which the Disney Skyliner had some gondolas collide and merit an evacuation. For the situation which happened on Saturday night, Disney has now released an official statement regarding everything.

After the incident with the Disney Skyliner on Saturday evening, the new mode of transportation has been closed and will remain that way “indefinitely.” There has been no word on when the Skyliner will reopen, but Disney has now released a statement to update guests on everything.

“We have a team diligently looking into the cause of the malfunction on the Epcot line of the Disney Skyliner. We have been in contact with the guests, many of whom were on the Skyliner for more than three hours until we were able to restart the system. We express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and continue to work with each guest individually.”

For now, there is still no update on when the Skyliner will reopen for guests, but operations have been tested the last couple of days.
