On Thursday evening, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover in Magic Kingdom was temporarily closed due to smoke billowing from the platform.
UPDATE at 7:45 P.M. Eastern
The Reedy Creek Fire Department has checked everything out and given the go-ahead for the Peoplemover and Astro Orbiter to reopen after a safety inspection was completed. While there is still no cause given for the smoke that billowed down, it is good to know that there was no real damage and no injuries reported.

Additional reports have been coming forth that three fire trucks were rushing into Magic Kingdom and as many as 15 firefighters were going up the moving walkway to the Peoplemover platform.
It is not exactly known if the smoke is coming from the Peoplemover, Astro Orbiter, or possibly even the Lunching Pad which sits underneath it. Guests are being moved to safety and there are no reports of any injuries as of this time.
We are trying to find out more on this situation with the Peoplemover and will update this article as it becomes known.
