A couple of years ago, we reported on Disney possibly looking at doing a live-action version/remake of Lilo & Stitch. Well, everyone’s favorite experiment/dog/alien may have finally found a live-action home on Disney+.
According to DisInsider, the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch is still in the early stages, but it will receive a budge of around $60 million. That is what the budget for the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp had for Disney+ as well.
MIchael Van Waes has written the script for the film which will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback.
Production of the live-action Lilo & Stitch is set to begin filming in Hawaii this fall, and the film will be a combination of live-action and CGI. Word is that Chris Sanders is expected to return and voice Stitch just as he did in the original animated film.
Disney has not yet officially announced the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch which means anything is subject to change from this report.
