The coronavirus pandemic that has swept the world has affected the lives of millions and help is needed from anyone who can provide it. Disney Parks is doing their part and it is in the form of donations of 150,000 ponchos and 105,000 N-95 masks to hospitals and other medical professionals.
It is no secret that medical supplies are needed during this trying time and they have proven to be sparse. Due to the overwhelming need for them, Disney Parks has donated 150,000 ponchos to MediShare, a humanitarian aid organization. These ponchos will be distributed to hospitals in need as medical professionals can use them to protect their clothing and prolong the use of PPE.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we’ve seen before,” said Charles Redding, MedShare CEO and President. “We have to find ways to pool our resources and work together to help the healthcare workers who are doing their very best to treat patients and contain COVID-19. We appreciate Disney partnering with us to support hospitals and healthcare workers on the frontlines.”
105,000 N-95 masks have also been donated to the states of Florida, New York, and California. Anyone who has been watching the news knows that these masks are in great demand.
More than 270 tons of food has already been donated to food banks from Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa.
