The Universal Orlando Resort has announced that they are temporarily suspending operations at two resorts. Beginning on August 21, 2020, operations will temporarily cease at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and the Aventura Hotel.

Emails have started being sent out to guests who have upcoming reservations at Sapphire Falls and Aventura. Here is the official statement from Universal Orlando.

“We continue to evaluate our offerings and have decided to consolidate our hotel operations as we manage through current conditions.  We will be operating the Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites and temporarily suspending operations at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Universal’s Aventura Hotel as of August 21.  Guests with reservations at Sapphire Falls or Aventura will be accommodated at our other hotels.”

Aventura Resort will be closed from August 21, 2020, and at least through October 31, 2020. Guests with reservations at that resort can modify to enjoy Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. They will also receive a $50 hotel dining credit to use at select Universal Orlando Resort hotel dining outlets.

Sapphire Falls will be closed from August 21, 2020, and at least through October 31, 2020. Guests with reservations at that resort can modify to enjoy a complimentary upgrade to a Premier Hotel – Hard Rock Hotel or Lowes Royal Pacific Resort. If the dates of the stay do not change, the modification will honor the existing room rate and receive the additional benefits of staying at a Premier Hotel.

This news comes just one week after the temporary closures of multiple attractions between both parks at the Universal Orlando Resort.
