The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (WedWay) has been closed for a long time, and we’ve been anxiously awaiting its return. Unfortunately, its refurbishment has been extended again and it won’t be opening again anytime soon.
While it appeared as if the PeopleMover was nearing a reopening this weekend, things have changed once more. The official refurbishment calendar for Walt Disney World has extended the refurbishment through January 30, 2021.
Taking that into account, the popular attraction is tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on January 31, 2021. Again, that is unless it is extended yet again.

This is not a refurbishment that has been a short one as the PeopleMover first closed before the temporary park closures in mid-March. Since the parks have reopened, the refurbishment has been extended on a number of occasions.
As of now, there have been no further extensions to things and the refurbishment should conclude at the end of January 9, 2021. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Cast Members and construction workers have been on the tracks a lot in recent weeks and doing more work. Here is hoping we can hear from Mr. Morrow…Mr. Tom Morrow later this week.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
