Walt Disney World Updates Policies On Face Coverings, Ground Markings, Party Sizes, And More

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues around the world and the vaccine is being distributed, locations are making adjustments to their policies. Walt Disney World has now updated their policies regarding face coverings, ground markings, party sizes, and more.

Walt Disney World is already assessing the situation in the world today and adjusting policies as need be. On their official “Know Before You Go” page of their website, guests can always stay connected with the most updated info.

First of all, Walt Disney World has stated that all guests must still wear a face covering/mask around parks and resort hotels, even if they have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.”

Walt Disney World has also updated their face covering policy in regard to transparent masks.

“Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings must be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching. They must also meet all face covering requirements outlined for regular face masks.”

Along with the updates to the face covering policy, Walt Disney World has also updated their policies on party size, physical barriers, and more.

  • Signage and Ground Markings: Please follow directional signage and ground markings, which have been installed throughout Walt Disney World Resort to help Guests better navigate common areas while practicing physical distancing.
  • Physical Barriers: Physical barriers have been added in select places to help promote proper separation between people, including in queues and on transportation and attractions. Barriers may also be visible, for example, in areas around cash registers or at Guest Relations.
  • Party Size: Guests traveling in parties of more than 10 are asked to split into smaller groups in queues, dining locations and other areas around our parks and resorts to better allow for physical distancing.
  • Parking: Cashless payment is recommended at the auto plazas. Cars will be directed to park in every other parking space at the theme parks.
  • Training: Cast Members are trained to engage with Guests and promote physical distancing guidelines in common areas and queues.
