Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently spoke with Emily Chang of Bloomberg, and he discussed a number of topics. One thing he said is that “guest satisfaction” at the theme parks is higher than it was before the closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chang and Chapek discussed the reopening of the parks and how things have changed since last year. When it came time to talk about how guests have taken to the changes, Chapek said that things have been going well.
“Our guest satisfaction scores, since we reopened across the world, have shown that, indeed, our guests are even more satisfied than they were prior to the pandemic.”
Chapek spoke specifically of the company learning how to operate under numerous trying circumstances.
“We’ve learned some things, we’ve learned to operate under constraints all the time by delivering this great same Disney magic that you expect, but we’ve been in a fortunate situation where we’ve had a lot of demand in the past. In many cases, that has exceeded what we can actually supply in terms of how many people we can put in the park and there’s been no situation that’s been more like that than we’ve had upon reopening.”
Chapek believes that the constraints now will bring about even more magic on a greater level when they return to the parks.
