It is the middle of hurricane season, and Walt Disney World is making sure they are prepared. With the threat of Tropical Storm Elsa looming, “Hurricane Meal Kits” have now been added to the dining location menus at the resort hotels.
Tropical Storm Elsa is not currently looking like a huge threat to Central Florida, but Disney is going to be prepared. If you check out the menus on My Disney Experience, you will see “Hurricane Meal Kits” have been added.
Even if Elsa doesn’t end up being a huge problem, this is a smart move on Disney’s part.
Years ago, they had to shut down on different occasions for various storms. This led to guests having to remain at their resorts and wait in very long lines for food and water. Now, guests can order these meals ahead of time and have them in their rooms if a storm ends up becoming a serious issue.
On some dining locations menus, they are listed as “Hurricane Meal Kits,” “Meal Kits,” or just listed as the items are above.
NOTE: Cast Members in different locations have stated that these meal kits are not currently available, but may be so later. This could also be a test by Walt Disney World to make sure all is working well if needed.
