For those heading to Walt Disney World in the early part of 2022, you will likely not be able to experience a major attraction. For a month, Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom will be closed for its annual refurbishment.
Beginning on January 10, 2022, Splash Mountain will close for its annual refurbishment. It is set to remain closed for a month and is scheduled to reopen on February 11, 2022.
This refurbishment is not for the transformation/reimagining of the attraction to the Princess and the Frog theme. This is a refurbishment that takes place pretty much every year and is done for upkeep and maintenance.
Splash Mountain at Disneyland is closing on the same day for a refurbishment, and it is also not to change the theme.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
