The ESPN Club restaurant on the BoardWalk at Walt Disney World has closed permanently. It will end up being replaced by The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers.
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is a new table-service dining location and bakery which will be replacing it. Disney has confirmed the arrival of the new shop/restaurant in the future, but not its exact location. All signs point to it going where the ESPN Club once stood.
An opening date has not yet been announced.
The Cake Bake Shop has two current locations in Indianapolis, Indiana, and they serve a variety of sandwiches, baked goods, and much more.
The ESPN Club had been in place since the summer of 1996. It closed with the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort for the pandemic in March of 2020. It had never reopened.
