Just a few days ago, Bob Iger was shockingly put back in place as the CEO of The Walt Disney Company and Bob Chapek was out. Many have wondered what changes would come under this new/old regime, and it appears as if the Park Pass Reservation System will be one of them.
According to a report from WDW Magic, the changes to the park pass reservation system will take place in early 2023.
It has been proven that the current system has not been overly welcomed by guests. The current system will reportedly be simplified with many parts of it being removed to bring about the guest experience closer to how it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Park Passes
Guests with date-based tickets to the Walt Disney World theme parks will no longer need a park pass. Their park entry will be guaranteed with the purchase of their tickets.
At the onset of the changes, Annual Passholders will still need to secure park passes for entry.
Park Hopping
Guests with date-based tickets will no longer have to wait until 2:00 P.M. to park hop. They will be able to hop whenever they wish during the day.
Annual Passholders will (initially) still have a set time when they can begin park hopping, but it will be earlier than 2:00 P.M. As of this writing, the time is not yet known.
****Please note that Disney has not announced these changes, confirmed them, nor said anything regarding them. It is possible that they look different when they happen, but that is if they even happen at all. Only time will tell as this is merely “reported” at this time.****
