Just recently, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Featuring Aerosmith reopened after a lengthy refurbishment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There were no major changes and no retheme as many rumors said there would be, but could the Muppets be in the future of the popular attraction?
Jeff Yorkes is the co-creator of The Muppets Mayhem series on Disney+, and he has really started a lot of talk online. One of the rumors going around before the attraction reopened was that Aerosmith would be removed and a new theme or band would take over.
That hasn’t happened, but speculation was that the attraction could be themed to The Muppets. On Twitter, Yorkes decided to shed some light on something that the creators of The Muppets Mayhem pitched to Disney when making the shows.
In response to a tweet regarding the rumor of the Muppets taking over Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, Yorkes said:
“Not gonna lie — this was absolutely part of our original pitch and it is another piece of this dream. Fingers-crossed that it happens.”
Of course, this is mere speculation and online chatter as Disney has not said that any major changes are happening to the ride. We simply need to wait and see what the future may bring.
