Maleficent, Evil Queen Meet-and-Greet Seemingly Removed from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Maleficent Queen MNSSHPA week ago, Disney revealed that a there would be a much larger presence of Disney Villains at this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and it included some meet-and-greets, dance parties, and more. With the first party just three days away, it appears as if there is a already a retraction of the Maleficent and Evil Queen appearances at Princess Fairytale Hall.

The original announcement from the Disney Parks Blog had a number of things for guests to enjoy, and this was thrown into the middle:

At Princess Fairytale Hall, guests can choose between visiting Anna and Elsa or dropping in to see Snow White and Aurora, but be warned! The Queen and Maleficent are crashing this princess party, joining Snow White and Aurora for the night.

Well, Doctor Disney reader Lando pointed out to me that the announcement of Maleficent and the Evil Queen was withdrawn. Looking back at the announcement on the Disney Parks Blog, that part of the Disney Villains presence at MNSSHP announcement has indeed been removed.

There has been no explanation or official announcement from Disney on the removal of the Maleficent and Evil Queen meet-and-greet at Princess Fairytale Hall, but taking it out of the article is interesting. Maybe it will still happen, and maybe it won’t.

Perhaps, the new Villains’ Soiree premium package has something to do with it. Maybe there is the issue of Disney wondering whether or not to put Maleficent of the Moors or green-face Maleficent in there. They couldn’t very well mix up and put the new live-action Maleficent in with old-school Aurora, could they?

It’s one of the questions that many people have been wondering about. None the less, Doctor Disney will be attending the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Monday night, and a full report will be coming from it with pics and more.

I love Dr. Disney! You always give us the latest scoop before anyone else. I appreciate that you always tell us whether the rumors are confirmed or not. Usually, I see it on Dr. Disney at least one day before the Disney Parks Blog. Thanks for all your hard work! I live in Indiana and don’t get to WDW nearly as often as I wish, so staying connected makes me feel like I’m right at “home!”

    • Thank you for your kind words, Jamie. I know that before moving here to Orlando, I always looked for and hoped to find as much info as I could to enjoy everything from afar. Now, I only hope to do the same for others! 🙂
