Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and the international parks are all closing temporarily due to the threat of the Coronavirus, but they aren’t the only ones. Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have both now decided to shutter their parks as well.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have announced that they will close beginning this weekend.
Universal Studios Hollywood is set to close to public beginning on Saturday, March 14, 2020. It is set to be closed for at least two weeks with a tentative opening scheduled for March 28, 2020.
Universal Orlando Resort has said they will close their theme parks beginning at the end of business on Sunday, March 15, 2020. A reopening date has not yet been set, but they are going to continue evaluating the situation and expect to be closed at least through the end of March.
Universal Orlando Resort’s hotels will remain open as will CityWalk.
Team Members will be paid by Universal during this unexpected closing time. Guests with vacation packages booked can reach out to Universal to discuss refunds or moving their trips.
