Guests riding Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom on Sunday had a very interesting experience. Not only did the attraction experience some typical downtime, but they had to evacuate their log flume boat after it took on water and eventually sunk.
Splash Mountain experienced quite a bit of downtime this past week, and it actually remained closed for a few days. After reopening, it has had its fair share of issues, but that is typical for the attraction after all these years.
On Sunday, the problems with Splash took an even greater turn. Guests posted on Twitter that they had to suddenly jump out of their log flume after it began to take on water and eventually sunk.
Twitter user Karen Ramirez posted images of the water coming into the log and after it went under the water.
There were no reported injuries from this situation on Splash Mountain.
On Monday morning, Magic Kingdom opened with Splash Mountain still closed but doing test runs. After about half an hour, the attraction opened to all guests.

The Cast Member actually told them they should have stayed in the boat?!?! It sunk! Like, it was all the way under water. No one could have stayed on that boat! Maybe they need to rethink their training on some of these rides.
