Dollywood has some of the best food and live entertainment you’ll find at any theme park, but don’t forget about the attractions and rides. Some of them can get a pretty lengthy line, and that’s why we are here to let you know if the TimeSaver Pass is worth your time and money.
All rides and shows are available to view with your paid admission, but if you’d like to make the most of your time? You’ll want to look into purchasing the TimeSaver Pass.
If you’re used to Walt Disney World/Disneyland, think Lightning Lane. If you’re used to Universal Studios, think of the Express Pass. It is used very much in the same way, but you go up to the attraction, show your wristband (which you collect at the front of the park before entering), and skip the line.
For shows, you will simply see a TimeSaver Show Reservationist (usually at the front of the park) and schedule your showtime. Then, arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start and your seats will be reserved.
We visited Dollywood the weekend before Christmas 2022, and the crowds were pretty decent in size. On Friday, we didn’t really need it for the attractions/rides as no line was ever more than 10 minutes wait time. It was well worth it for the shows, though, as we reserved multiple showtimes upon entering the park and had prime seating at each.
On Saturday, the crowds were quite bigger and some wait times hit 45-60 minutes. The TimeSaver literally made our wait times less than five (5) minutes for any attraction…no matter what the posted wait was.
One thing to remember about Dollywood is that you may go during times of year when it is really cold outside. Most of the lines are outside and even covered areas are open air.
Even if the line is “only” 20-30 minutes long, that would be 20-30 minutes you’re spending in possibly freezing temperatures. Trust us when we say that you are going to be cold.
The reserved seating for the shows was worth it to us alone. It was already great that we received the TimeSaver Pass for free with our stay at the DreamMore, but we would have easily paid for it if necessary.

The TimeSaver Pass at Dollywood is well worth the money and so very necessary. Sure, you may want to wait and see how crowded your day may be, but you’re going to miss out on prime seating at the shows as it will be reserved for others.
To avoid standing in cold or hot or inclement weather, to avoid long lines, and to get the best seats in the house? Look long at purchasing the TimeSaver Pass on your next visit to Dollywood.
