Lot of news coming out this morning about Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Out in California, the D23 Expo is teasing some info on Avatar Land, but back here in Florida, there is news on a new living character coming and changes to the morning routine at the park.
There appears to be a new operating procedure going on for the morning opening at DAK, and it is allowing guests to get on some attractions early.
In the past, rope drop was held near the top board in front of the Tree of Life, but that looks to be gone.
Guests are now allowed into the park 15 minutes before it officially opens for the day. They are now allowed to head to Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and TriceraTop Spin. There are also some snack locations around Discovery Island that are also open.
FASTPass distribution will not begin until the official park opening time so that can not be taken advantage of right away.
Some other news is that a new living jungle character will be coming to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom beginning on Aug. 14, 2013. “Bamboo” will appear in the Africa section of the park at times of:
- 11:30 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m.
- 1:30 p.m.
- 2:30 p.m.
Those that know and love DiVine will still be able to see her in the Oasis.
