Fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the “Disney Infinity” video game across multiple gaming systems, and it is almost here. It will hit store shelves, or ship out to everyone that pre-ordered it, on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. There is a lot going on with this incredibly interactive game, and here is all you need to know.
“Disney Infinity” a video game that actually uses action figures/toys, open-world creation, and story-driven gameplay.
Each starter pack comes with the video game itself, one power disc, and three figures:
- Captain Jack Sparrow
- Sully
- Mr. Incredible
Essentially, you will be able to play as just about any character in the Disney Universe and have them interact with other characters as well. This is all going to be done in the huge number of worlds that come from Disney movies and theme parks.
Modes
- Toy Box – Players can create their own game in an open-world. Anything that is unlocked within the playsets including characters, weapons, gadgets, etc… can be mixed and matched. As more is released and unlocked; more things can be built.
- Play Set – Certain worlds (play sets) can be played in and accessed by placing the relevant figures/toys on the Infinity Base.
Infinity Base
The Infinity Base is a small base with two round spots that allow players to put their characters into and access the play sets and worlds. It will also incorporate those specific characters into the game. Extra figurines will be priced at around $13.99 each.
Power Discs
These discs can be placed on the Infinity Base along with character pieces to add new elements into the “Disney Infinity” game. The discs can bring about power-ups, weapons, gadgets, and more. Up to four different Power Discs can be used at a time.
More discs can be purchased for an additional cost and they will be sold in blind bags with two discs each.
