Key to the World Cards going away at Disney’s All-Star Resorts this week

Disney Key to the World cardA couple of weeks ago, Disney’s Pop Century Resort discontinued Key to the World (KTTW) cards in favor of strictly having MagicBands. Now, it appears as if three more resorts are about to follow in its footsteps as the All-Star Resorts are doing the same.

This week, all three of Disney’s All-Star Resorts will stop using KTTW cards and they will not be given to guests at check-in.

Here is how the roll-out will work this week:

All guests staying at these resorts will receive MagicBands only, but a KTTW card can be requested. The thing is that the KTTW card given will not have an active magnetic strip meaning that it will not be able to be used for the original FASTPass machines.

Yes, there has been a delay in the full roll-out for Disney’s MyMagic+, but that means testing will continue and resorts will advance forward all the time.

With testing continuing, that means things can be one way now, but always are possible to change.
