A small fire broke out at the Magic Kingdom on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. It happened during the “Wishes” fireworks and on the roof of Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid over in Fantasyland.
Reedy Creek Fire said that there were sparks from “Wishes” that landed on top of the roof of the attraction’s building and caused a small fire.
It was the foliage and brush on top of the building that caught on fire, but some witnesses (guests) say that the fire ended up spreading to the rock work as well.
Once on the scene, fire crews were able to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
There were no reported injuries during the situation and it was quickly put back into order.
Some people on the scene say that the area of the Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction was evacuated during the incident, but Reedy Creek Fire (RCFD) would not confirm that to be true.
The attraction has been put back into operation already.
