There are those things that may seem like common sense to a lot of people, but sometimes, they just aren’t. It’s not that people are necessarily absent-minded or ignorant, but they just get forgetful at times. It happens.
Walt Disney World can certainly do that to a person and it can make your mind go a little out there without your even realizing it.
Ok, some of the things listed below are realized and are purposely done. Whether you’re intentionally doing them or not while at Walt Disney World, let’s just cut them out, ok?
1.) Don’t just start backing up when you’re trying to take a picture. While focusing forward and walking backward, you have no idea where you’re going or who is there.
2.) Don’t allow your children to walk up to the table of other guests and stare or grab things or what have you. Sure, kids are going to explore the immediate area, and that’s grand, but don’t let it go on for hours. Especially if they are taking it a step or two, too far.
3.) Don’t purposely scream loudly on Haunted Mansion. There is a script, music, sounds, voices, and so much more for guests to enjoy on Haunted Mansion. Don’t try to be “cool” and scream wildly and idiotically when you don’t have to do so.
4.) Don’t drop F-bombs and other curse words as loud as humanly possible because you “are on vacation” and think no-one else can hear you. There are children and other people as far as the eye can see. Let’s be the slightest bit courteous.
5.) Don’t put your hands or legs or arms or heads or anything like that out of the boat, such as on the Living with the Land attraction at Epcot. There’s a reason that Walt Disney World Cast Members state – and sometimes scream – “Please keep all hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the boat at all times.”
6.) Don’t change your child’s diaper in places where other people are eating nearby. Just don’t do it.
7.) Don’t stop and try to take a posed picture while walking through a giant crowd. Chances are that you’re going to stand there for countless amounts of time as people awkwardly try to stop or pause or break so you can take your pic. Not to mention everyone slamming into you as your family holds up peace signs on the front ramp of Cinderella Castle right after the Festival of Fantasy Parade.
8.) Don’t loudly recite monologues or attraction scripts. If you want to mouth them or say them quietly to yourself, go ahead. But don’t speak over the Cast Members or attraction recordings so you can be heard. Other guests are trying to hear the real thing.

9.) Don’t think you can do something just because you “hope the Cast Members don’t see you.” Obviously, you realize that what you’re doing is wrong.
10.) Flash Photography…we’ve been through this one time and time again. If Walt Disney World CMs or posted signs tell you not to use flash photography, then just don’t do it.

Been to WDW every year since my twins were 5 and they just turned 20. Love your list of Don’t Do’s at WDW. I am sure you get pounded with people wanting to add to your list but I cant resist this one. It is a real pet peeve with me. “Dont stop int he middle of the row at attractions like Muppet Vision or Mickey’s Philharmagic. When the CM’s tell everyone to keep moving to the end, please keep moving to the end”. I am sure you know people stop in the middle thinking that is the best view and then everyone tries to climb over them and it is a big mess. Well I’ve added my two cents. Hope you dont mind.

Well, I am a large, semi-elderly woman who does not climb over people easily….so if you park yourself in the center and expect me to climb over you……definitely expect to get your feet stepped on. Maybe twice.
Equally annoying is what sometimes happens during the off season in the same situation. I was taking a seat with my party about 3/4 of the way into a row in the audience of MuppetVision 3D when a very belligerent man behind us started bellowing at me to move all the way down the aisle “because Sam Eagle said so.” The only problem was, our very live cast member had told us repeatedly in the preshow room that our show was nowhere near full and we could sit wherever we liked. Sure enough, when the show began, all twenty of the rest of us were close to dead center, while the follower of Sam Eagle and his poor companion were all the way on the end of our row, alone.
The moral of the story is, listen closely to your cast members, not a recording of a muppet.
