Details on Menu and Reservations for Be Our Guest Restaurant unveiled

The Disney Parks Blog has revealed some new details on the Be Our Guest Restaurant that will be opening by the “holidays 2012” in the Fantasyland Expansion in the Magic Kingdom.

While it’s not a definite date, guests do now know when they’ll at least be able to start putting their names down for spots. As per the DPB, “guests can start making reservations in late August.”

An exact date will be coming as soon as possible.

The restaurant will have seating for over 500 guests throughout three dining rooms with theming and details being quite the eye-catchers. As for the menu and how service will be? Well, it certainly won’t be exactly what everyone that visits Disney World is used to.

Chef Michael Deardorff fills us in:

“Lunch is quick service, but not traditional counter service,” says Deardorff. Guest-activated terminals make ordering a snap (there also will be traditional cashiers for cash orders and special dietary requests). You order, take a seat and lunch is delivered to your table – on china, not paper.

Back to the menu. “It’s all about simple, fresh ingredients,” says Deardorff. “Just like your favorite quick-service restaurants across Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll be able to enjoy sandwiches and salads at Be Our Guest Restaurant for lunch, but all with a twist that transports you to the French setting of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’”

Dinner will be table service and add a touch more elegance where you sit down right away and have everything brought to you.

A number of dishes are going to be considered quite new to those that are used to other meals around Walt Disney World. Check out just a few of what will be available:

  • Tuna Nicoise salad
  • Croque Monsieur sandwich with carved ham, Gruyere cheese, bechamel, and pommes fries (aka French fries)
  • Carved turkey on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise
  • Grilled steak sandwich with garlic butter spread
  • Braised pork cooked for eight hours
  • Loaded vegetable quiche
  • Quinoa, shallot, and chive salad
