After months of waiting and much speculation, the brand new “Tangled” area of Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is open. Many have thought that Rapunzel would be located there for a meet-and-greet. Others expected it to be a shop or other fun area. Imagineers and Cast Members have insisted and confirmed that it would be nothing more than a new set of bathrooms. Well, on March 8, 2013, the area opened and the old Fantasyland Skyway station has been turned into…bathrooms.
The bathrooms at the end of the Peter Pan queue will be closing as these brand new extravagant bathrooms have opened. There is also a new outside seating area and stroller parking for “it’s a small world.”
The area is beautifully detailed with the paper lanterns, Rapunel’s tower, Rapunzel’s frying pan hanging above, and even “WANTED” posters of the bar patrons that “Have a Dream.”
A walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square is open now too. It takes you directly from the Rapunzel bathroom area to the Haunted Mansion. Essentially, The Yankee Trader is now surrounded on both sides by walkways.
