Construction on Disney Springs is in full force and it has mostly begun over on the Disney West Side and in the old Pleasure Island area. The Comedy Warehouse is being torn down and a number of locations are now boarded up to get things town down and construction going up.
One thing that has been closed off is a huge parking lot (Lots H-K) between AMC Theatres and Planet Hollywood.
This is where one of the new Disney Springs’ parking garages will be going, and that’s a good thing, but the parking problems it causes in the meantime is a huge deal. There are other parking lots on both sides of the closure and a big one behind Cirque du Soleil, but that one is kind of far off.
Still, it may be a better option than the possible plans in the works to help parking and overflow.
WDWNT says that overflow parking for guests will be available at Team Disney, SunTrust, and Casting. These locations are across the street, and Disney is going to provide shuttle service for at least those parking at Team Disney.
Cast Members shouldn’t worry as the Hess lot across the street is opening up double the amount of parking. There will also be lots of communication via text messages and emails and such so that CMs can always be aware of full lots, overflows, etc…
