Scammers are targeting tourists in the Central Florida and Walt Disney World area. A fake pizza flyer scam is happening at Central Florida hotels and they are being delivered for places that don’t even exist.
These fliers are being slipped under the doors of of hotel and motel rooms, and they have no truth to them at all.
The restaurants are not searchable on the Internet, and the phone number usually goes to a T-Mobile voicemail that is normally full.
The fliers are almost always delivered at night by people sneaking on Disney property or waiting around until later, and leaving them for unsuspecting, and hungry, guests.
If guests happen to call the numbers and get an actual person, the scammers take your order by credit card and then…have your information to do as they wish.
Over the past two weeks, guests at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and the Comfort Inn Maingate on Hwy 192 in Kissimmee have been targeted.
Personally, I’ve gotten them on a few occasions on Disney property including Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
Steer clear of these sketchy, fake pizza fliers.
Hmm interesting! We saw these at All-Star Sports when we stayed there last month. Yikes.
The ONLY scam here is that the new media NEVER let us little pizzerias tell our side of the story!!! It is so obvious that DISNEY runs the media in this town. You see the real fact is that next to a ticket to the parks in the area PIZZA DELIVERY is BIG BUSINESS, Disney who sides with Flippers Pizza(Flippers makes the pizza crusts for disney) SCAMS you the tourist into beliving this B.S. and then gets you to buy their overhyped flippers crappy pizza. They never show you PROOF of any credit cards stolen as it isn’t happenning. It scares the tourist into buying their VERY EXPENSIVE pizza1 Just read the fine print on their menus to see all the charges you will be paying.
And yes, BIG POWERFUL , GREEDY corporations like Disney get new laws passed that push the little guys face in the sand. Florida State Statute 509.144 makes little mom and pop pizzerias worse than drug dealers. Dealers loose their drugs and car when arrested but this new law takes the little pizza families car, house, bank accouns and business from them! UNFAIR COMPETITION!!!!!1 Hello!!
Please support your local independently owned pizzeria and boycott Disney/Flippers pizza.
Peter Bonk- Owner Two Italians Pizza Delivery – A legitimately licenced restaurant.
P.S. – I dare the news media to come hear my side of the SCAM story. Wait till October when my new flier as well as the other mom and pops fliers state these cold hard facts on their menus! Don’t bully the little guys, buy them out. Shits about to get real nasty!
MR. BONK IS RIGHT!!!!! Florida has secretly and unconstitutionally passed several laws that prohibit SMALL mom and pop Pizza Shops from marketing in their area. This led to dozens of local pizza shops shutting their doors because of these big companies. Most Tourists do not know this they just have to believe what Disney tells them. If you think about it mom and pop shops always have a better product because it is about the name and not the money. Would you invest $160,000 dollars or more in opening a pizza shop to have a bad product? No …you are going to make it the best pizza around. work at a Disney hotel and I eat at two Italians pizza everyday on my lunch break it is a great family owned shop and always clean and friendly.
Involved in the real scam is
Disney
State of Florida
Dominos Pizza
Flippers Pizza
Y’all buy your pizza from Costco and put them in generic boxes and then mark up the price . More like $160.00 investment.
Whether or not these are a scam is immaterial as far as I’m concerned, they aren’t flyers that are welcome on Disney property. Disney has a strict no solicitation policy at all of their resorts and that is posted at all the entrances to each property. I’ve seen the flyers in question here and have witnessed guests not get the brand they expected when they ordered from it. I’ve seen people only accept cash with these and have the first a hungry howies box out of the trunk of the car, presumably charging the guest a lot more than was originally paid for the pizza. Call it slander if you want that Disney calls it a scam, I call the entire flyer deal illegal.
Ha Ha, we catch your criminal trespassing flyer solicitors everytime they come to the resort trying to advertise that nasty food of yours. We even caught you Mr. Bonk.
