Possible Small Fire Being Reported At Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Seven Dwarfs Mine TrainWith just two days to go until the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train officially opens at the Magic Kingdom, soft openings officially began at the Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour party this past Friday. As it is a new attraction, there are still some bugs and bumps to deal with, and there were actually reports being passed around of a small fire happening at the Fantasyland attraction on Monday, May 26, 2014.

Now, there has been no confirmation or word from Disney, but this is what has been relayed to me and things that were witnessed by me at the Magic Kingdom.

Around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, a serious storm began to roll into Magic Kingdom and a number of attractions were being temporarily shut down due to “inclement weather.”

One of those being the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Around 3:30 p.m., the standby line on the right-hand side of the attraction entrance was long as usual. On the left-hand side, the FASTPass+ return line actually stretched around the corner and to the Beauty and the Beast bridge.

It was at this point that reports came from a source telling me that Reedy Creek Fire Department and a number of EMTs had been dispatched out to the backstage area near the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction.

A source said that a “small fire or electrical sparks causing smoke” which called for a “Signal 25” which is a “fire” in Cast Member speak.

Those with FASTPass+ reservations for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were sent out the email from MyMagic+ advising them that the attraction was unavailable and other options could be taken advantage of.

Some more time passed and empty mine train cars started being run and then eventually, the attraction was reopened. Finally, after a number of hours, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was reopened.

The queue line was never officially evacuated and there were no reports of injuries. Again, Disney has not released a statement of any kind, and the attraction is back up and running without further incident.
