Have you ever wanted to be one of the Seven Dwarfs? Well, now is your chance to show Disney what you can do to “Be the 8th Miner” in a contest that will allow you a chance to win a seven-day, seven-night vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney Parks Blog revealed the contest to “Be the 8th Miner” on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, and it will require you to act like a dwarf and showcase your photography skills.

For the next seven weeks, you can enter the “Be The Eighth Miner” contest for a chance to win a seven-day, seven-night vacation to Walt Disney World Resort to meet the Dwarfs and experience Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for yourself. Each week, a new challenge will be posted on BeThe8thMiner.com that asks you to show specific “Seven Dwarf”-inspired skills in a photo or Vine video. Once your entry is done, you simply follow@WaltDisneyWorld on Twitter, and tweet out your entry along with the hashtag #8thMinerContest.
The first week of seven in the “Be the 8th Miner” contest is said to be “Grumpy’s Challenge, and the challenge is to submit your grumpiest selfie. The prime example is that of Grumpy and Grumpy Cat outside of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
The challenges for the “Be the 8th Miner” contest come once a week and will be in this order:
- Grumpy’s Challenge
- Dopey’s Challenge
- Bashful’s Challenge
- Sleepy’s Challenge
- Happy’s Challenge
- Sneezy’s Challenge
- Doc’s Challenge
Each week, one aspiring miner will win $500 and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train trading pin. The grand prize 8th Miner winner will win a 7-night vacation for four to Walt Disney World® Resort, where you’ll meet the crew and ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!
